This is the poem that changed the world,
This is the poem that made men think
And questioned all they could possibly do,
These are the words that laid bare the truth
Then the truth did what only it does
And the cracks began to appear
Making wise men smile for the time has come,
When all will be laid bare
And all excuses
All coverups are no longer of use
This is the poem that changed the world,
When it talked about wealth,
A living wage is an excuse
To appease the conscience of those who have more
So the rich should feel shame
Aware poverty pervades the world
Knowing they’ve long passed right by
With heads turned away.
This is the poem that called on
Leaders to step up leaving self interest behind
To act for their people
Give their nations back pride.
This is the poem that changed the world,
When it told all people
That skin was just skin whatever the colour,
And the god of your choice
Was the one God all chose,
And this poem let you know there is only one god
Who gave this world for all.
This poem is a reminder
That this world’s not ours
So take the climate change back.
This is the poem that gave polar bears hope
Caused whales to sing
And women to believe equality exists
Whilst finally men realise equality’s a thing,
Your gender’s your choice
Even if it’s not for me
Because freedoms a right
A god given thing.
This is the poem that changed the world
When it was told to all people
And they took it onboard.
I LOVE this! It needs to be posted on all the sites, all the coffeehouse walls, all the forums, in all the chats, at all the open mics!
