Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin.
Kahlil Gibran
Many people pray. Many people believe in The Law Of Attraction. There are those who believe that if they maintain a positive outlook life will be good to them. But they don’t live the exceptional lives you’d expect.
And me, I have my moments, but recently I’ve come to realise there is a temptation, a drive to become attached to the outcome of my prayer, my meditation, the thing I hope to attract. When it doesn’t seem to appear I fret or become concerned and there can be anxiety if I really need this answer.
The whole thing is, not to become focused on the outcome, instead become focused on Source, God, wherever I believe the answer is coming from. We talk of faith “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is detachment from outcome and a confident belief in the source of outcome. Faith is an awareness of the love the Omnipotent extends endlessly towards us. Faith is an integral element of our relationship.
So, this week, focus on Source, whether you call Source God, the Universe, the Great Spirit or whatever. Live in the joy of your relationship and allow Source to determine the outcome. You may be truly surprised by the outcome because, beyond your’s and my imagination there exist many more possibilities and Love always does its best.
Thank you for this. I’ve done a lot of thinking lately about doing good without attachment to the outcome. Your advice to release our attachment to the outcome of meditation or prayer is something I haven’t considered, but I definitely see the value in, and I love the phrase “Love always does its best.” Have a lovely day–or whatever kind of the day the Universe presents. ☺️

Thank you for your comments. I have struggled with detaching from outcome but I am getting there and finding it is very liberating. If I’ve done my best and been kind in doing it, I can do no better.
Watch for my post later this week on Law 2. I hope you will enjoy it.

I guess I am only reading this now, because now is when I need to read it.
Focusing on outcome too much lately – and it can be disastrous – and today I was feeling quite overwhelmed.
What a pertinent reminder to ‘just let go’.
Thank you, Wic!
