Pogue,
I read a fair bit and am always finding quotes and sections of books I love to revisit. I thought I would like to share them and bless both of us. You in the receiving and me in the knowledge that I have given something that is special to me.
My first choice is from Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts.
I clenched my teeth against the stars. I closed my eyes. I surrendered to sleep. One of the reasons we crave love, and seek it so desperately, is that love is the only cure for loneliness, and shame, and sorrow. But some feelings sink so deep into the heart that only loneliness can help you find them again. Some truths about yourself are so painful that only shame can help you live with them. And some things are so sad that only your soul can do the crying for you.
Off to collect some more, revisit, some more for you.

Truly love how profound the excerpt you shared is. Definitely awakens some thought. Thank you for sharing.

One thing for sure, this man who penned the quote has lived enough life to write a great novel.
