Songs to Pogue…What I’m Listening To

Pogue,

We’ve been having a series of rather spiritually slanted letters, what with “Go deep or go home” and “Prayer, I still don’t understand”. So I have been listening to some music in keeping with the mood.

I’m also half way through “Rememberings”, Sinead O’Connor’s autobiography and as a result I thought I ought to listen to some of her music. It’s been a while since I last did. Anyway, I came across an album I haven’t listened to before. Theology which was recorded several years ago and just fittted the bill. Full of spirituality which is beautifully sung and full of feeling. One track has stood out for me and I’d like to share it with you. The Glory of Jah, which says so very much whatever name you use for God. I think it sent chills up my back the first time I played it.

Here it is.

Her’s is a troubled story but the fact that she can find such expression leads me to believe there is hope for many. Listen to the song and allow your feeling to be touched.
