Kindness:
The MindsJournal
1. Loaning someone your strength instead of reminding them of their weakness
Long story short. I test drove a large motorcycle. I dropped it. I was stationary on a steep slope trying to pull onto a busy road. I never made the road. I didn’t hurt myself (except my pride). I just laid the bike down. And…I couldn’t pick it up!
Then something magical happened. As the traffic on the main road thundered by a woman pulled up. She was in her fifties not that age has anything to do with this. She came over and said: “You’ll never pick that up on your own”, and proceed to roll her selves up. Bless her. Then a van pulled up and two guys jumped out full of concern lest I was hurt. Before long the road was at a stand still and there were a number of concerned people. The bike was lifted. I thanked everyone and we all went on our way.
As I rode along I realised I was amazed, literally, at the amount of kindness that had appeared when I thought I was stuck on my own. I’m still amazed. I’m smiling on the inside. I feel like a victim of kindness. You know, I think there is hope for the world, still.
Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.

And…I now know how to lift that bike on my own…..
I’m so glad you weren’t hurt!
But even more glad that you experienced some of the kindness that definitely is still left in this world.
Thank you for this post, and the reminder to keep spreading kindness wherever we go ❤

C.S.Lewis wrote a book titled ‘Surprised By Joy’. I was surprised by kindness, which is kinda nice.
