Hiya Pogue,
You may have noticed that I missed Musing this week. I know, Monday was ruined from the get-go!
But this morning someone reminded me of a time gone by that set me thinking. You won’t know this but when I was working, there was a time when I would get up on a Monday and, peering in the mirror, I’d think, this week we need to take £1/2 million. There were whole periods of the year when this would have to be repeated, week after week. And we did it. But life was a rinse-repeat cycle! Up at 5.00am for a workout. Shower. Office. Work. 6.00pm – 7.00pm home. TV (too tired for anything else!). Bed.
It was all about the money.
There came a day when I just could do it no longer and with the help of some friends I quit, or rather I retired.
And now I have a different perspective on life. You see giving away money is relatively easy for me when I come across need (and there is always need). Even when there isn’t an abundance, money does not have the hold on my life it did for so long. As you know I believe there are seasons in life. We run with something for a time, maybe a long time, but then the season comes to an end. The important thing is to recognise that the end has come. I have met so many people who (to use the proverbial saying) are flogging a dead horse. They need to let go and move on. Life just isn’t in that place any longer.
Now time is my most precious commodity and in particular personal time. Moments of solitude. Time spent in intimate company. If I’m asked for time it is very likely I’ll give you a reason you can’t have it. But if you do get it realise it is either a gift given to you or you hold a particularly special place in my life. Otherwise just expect a cheque in the post.
Time is our most precious commodity. You can always make more money. Really! You can never add more time to your life balance. I, like everyone else, have a limit amount and now realise I need to spend it wisely. I guess age does come with a little added wisdom🤔
Yours, living my best life,
Wic
I have to say, dear Wic, this is one post to which I can absolutely not relate! (But thank you nonetheless for sharing)

Thank you. But I’m thinking you’ve had another thing that has consumed your focus and eaten up your time?
