Monday Musing

Morning Pogue,

Just a quick note this morning I’m afraid. Busy life ahead of me!

Have you ever thought that what you do now, the choice you make, the action you take, what you say (or think for that matter, as a thought is the parent of ever action) will determine your future happiness or sadness? That the choice you make today, in this moment, will be the ancestor of your future experience of life. Today you plant the seeds that will come to fruition at sometime yet to come.

If that isn’t an encouragement to live deliberately, to make considered choices, to be mindful. You know you can’t unmake the history you leave behind you. The past is written in stone. But you can choose and live to give yourself a better history (and who doesn’t want that?).

So today ask yourself in the moment if this action is what you wish to have to remember when you look back. Is this the foundation for what you wish to come? Will you smile at some future point when you cast a glance over your shoulder and know you did good? Today, give the future “you” a gift, a great gift to be unwrapped somewhere along the journey of life.

Today is a new chapter in the book of your life. Write with consideration. Write so well that sometime in the future you will wish to come back to this moment as a pilgrim.

Yours, with a new chapter ahead,

Wic.

Come back as a pilgrim to visit. Will you be a friend. Greatest gift

  1. Great post!
I actually have a printed poster, inside my cupboard, so that every morning when I open the door, I am ‘forced’ to read it. (And I usually whisper the words before I take out my clothes.)

It says : ”Do something today that your future self will thank you for”. 😉
