Pogue,
Saturday night I ventured out to listen to a band from my youth. Still turning out great music.
It was what I would describe as a “sellotape and elastic band” affair with minimal equipment, the music stopping more than once as leads failed, and the bass guitar completely giving up. The support band had to supply a replacement!
But it remained a great evening as we, the slightly aged audience, listened to songs we’ve carried with us over the years. The band was Tom Robinson’s band, Tom himself, after a very colourful career, being a presenter on BBC 6 Music.
I’m leaving you with a favourite of mine, written when he was in Germany, hiding from the UK Tax man, according to what he told us on Saturday 😳
We left a lot of great music behind us as we passed this way!
