There’s a poem on the breeze
That’s reaching out to you
Reaching out to me
And it’s telling us a tale
Of a time yet to come
When we’ll lose our every judgement
See the world with new eyes
We’ll understand each other’s story
A history we need to hear
So we’ll start from understanding
And possess a driving need to know
Reflecting what we’d have done
Had that story been our’s to tell
Thus blunting our condemnation
Of behaviours not our own
There’s a poem on the wind
That brings a better day
When you’ll look beyond my body
To appreciate what’s within
When my colour won’t be noticed
My belief be understood
And I’ll extend the same to you
Being different yet the same
We’ll see right to the person
The core of everything
Then we’ll know we’re not that different
At our roots we’re much the same
If I find my path is judgement
I’ll know to begin with me
And then the world will change
