Morning Pogue,
What a way to start the day with a letter from me! How are you? Ok, put this one away for a few minutes. It will make sense. Promise. โAs above, so belowโ. Got it?
OK. So in the book of Ecclesiastes the writer makes comment that โthere is nothing new under the sunโ which, for us creatives, is kinda deflating. Donโt you agree? But, wait, we are continually creating, surely? Technology is moving along at a pace and new things are constantly appearing. Maybe the writer got it wrong which is a little disconcerting for those who believe in an inerrant Bible.
So, in an attempt to save the situation letโs asked: โWhat is the writer saying?โ
In order to answer this letโs think about what Plato had to say. I know he didnโt read the Bible but he can help, he really can. Plato surmised that the archetype or โFormโ of everything we have and see in the world exists beyond the world. Some would say in heaven, some would say in the being of God or Source. That everything we have here is but a copy of the true โFormโ. He wrote an allegory, that is, a literary device that delivers a picture designed to bring meaning. He described people in a cave where all that they saw of the truest reality was shadows. Remember Paul saying:
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
1 Corinthians 12:13
Sounds similar? Maybe the writer of Ecclesiastes also understood this and is saying this. That all โFormsโ currently exist and whilst we go on creating and discovering and feel we are doing something new, something wonderful, what we are really doing is remembering what exists in Source from where we have come.
So to the Law of Correspondence. Firstly and basically, what we have here and now is in correspondence to what exists in perfection. As we draw closer to God or Source, to the supreme consciousness behind the universe, we become more enlightened and so remember more and hence create more. Remember, โAs above, so belowโ.
Secondly, โAs within, so withoutโ meaning whatever you feel on the inside is reflected back to you in your reality. You are creating your reality, whether you realise it or not, through your feelings. Your feelings create your reality. Think of this from an observers point of view. We both know some negative people. You know, the ones whose life is never right and theyโre always suffering (which we both see as an attention device, right?). They can only see whatโs wrong with the world. You say: โWhat a lovely dayโ, and theyโll tell you ten reasons why it is not and how it will get worse. You show them your creation and theyโll say…โwell doneโ? Absolutely not! Rather theyโll tell you everything that could be better. Youโll wish you never showed them.
Iโm not what happened to me, Iโm what I chose to become.
Carl Jung
But, as you have gathered, they see a different world from you. A world that is against them. And, if you watch, into that world come like people, and things do go wrong because, well, thatโs exactly what they are looking for. Believe me, if you send negativity into the world thatโs exactly what comes back. Letโs return to our man Paul who saw this, saying:
…for what ever a man sows, that is what he will reap
Galatian 6:7
We are creative beings and our outside world corresponds to what we have created inside and put out. Yes, things happen which we believe we have no control over but, we do. If we have peace within and respond from that place we can change the world without. If we are possessed of passion and belief within we can change the world outside as witnessed in some of the great lives of the last century. We can cause the world to correspond. We need to remember that we are creators from the Creator. As Jesus said, and I know youโre taking stock now:
The Kingdom of God is within you.
Luke 17:21
And, just to quote an alternate source:
The Kingdom of Heaven is within you; and whoever shall know himself shall find it,
Ancient Egyptians proverb
Everything starts from ourselves. Everything starts with a thought. We have within the essence of that that is creation. โAs above, so belowโ. And we may currently see poorly and understand in part but it is for us to understand ourselves and how correspondence works in the universe and in our lives. I have quoted before:
Truth has rushed to meet you since you called upon it. If you knew Who walks beside you on the path that you have chosen, fear would be impossible
A Course In Miracles T-18.III.3:2-3
When we truly know who we are and our place in the universe what we put out into the world, in correspondence to our thoughts and actions, will be marvellous. The Kingdom of God will carry right through from Source to the world around us, coming through us on the way.
The Ancient Greek saying, “know thyself”, is one of the three Delphic maxims inscribed in the pronaos of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. How we all need to heed this and come to understand who and what we are and how we reflect the very essence of creation. Perfection waits to be reflected amongst us. The magic is waiting to begin and the delay isnโt on Godโs end.
Yours, wanting to do magic,
Wic.
Lovely post. And the truth in that statement ‘everything starts with a thought!!!’ will make us watch our thoughts more. I enjoyed reading this.

Thank you. Iโm learning that positive thoughts used consistently do start to change my world, but itโs not easy to be consistently positive. As someone said, itโs practice that makes perfect.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this blog post!
SO much truth… and I am learning to apply it more and more each day!
Did I remember to mention that I LOVE this blog post? ๐
And your comment? About how it’s not easy to stay consistently positive? Naturally, I agree. Practice most certainly does make perfect though… and the perfect work HAS started ๐
Even when all seems lost, and everything seems wrong, we can make the choice to speak our truths and train our brains… the positive always seems to find it’s way through ๐ It just depends how much work we do ๐ It can be a painful process sometimes, and I definitely sometimes fight it… but it’s all worth it in the end ๐
